Therapist. Wife. Mom. Step-mom. Grandma. Nature enthusiast. Nervous system nerd. Recovering perfectionist. Believer in God, naps, and the power of doing the work.

Hey, I’m Kris. I’m a licensed professional counselor and the founder of Transformations Counseling—but more than that, I’m a woman who’s lived the kind of life that makes healing not just a profession, but a calling. I’ve wrestled with hurt, shame, fear, and rejection—and I’ve also experienced the freedom that comes when we stop running from our pain and start repairing the things that hold us back. Because here’s the truth: we repeat what we don’t repair.

Over a decade ago, I returned to school and earned my Master’s in Professional Counseling while juggling five kids (two of mine, three of his), the complexities of blending a family, and the usual messiness of life. Today, I’m grateful to have been married to my husband for 18 years, and to wear many hats: wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

My personal healing journey is what shaped my professional path. I didn’t just study these things—I lived them. I was drawn to Somatic Experiencing by my own body, which was desperately asking to be heard. That led me to complete a three-year training at the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and become an SE Practitioner. I am certified in EMDR. And I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Polyvagal Theory, and Attachment Theory—all of which inform the integrative, deeply relational work I do with clients.

For several years, I worked alongside world-class trauma experts at The Meadows, a renowned treatment facility, where I truly found my rhythm as a therapist. While I love using all the tools in my toolbox, my heart beats fastest when doing inner child work—healing early attachment wounds that quietly drive so much of how we show up in life, in relationships, and in our sense of self.

In 2022, I opened Transformations Counseling in Gilbert, Arizona, to bring this work to the community I call home. My goal is to help people reconnect with their whole selves—mind, body, and spirit—and walk with them as they rediscover their resilience, clarity, and capacity for change.

When I’m not doing therapy, you’ll find me soaking in some sunshine, hiking with my dog Charlie, enjoying time with family or power-napping like a pro. I love deep conversations, a good book, long coffee chats, prayer, laughter, and the kind of friendships that survive voice memo replies and missed texts.

If you’re here, I want you to know: I see you. You’re not alone, and there’s nothing too messy or too broken that can’t begin to heal. You don’t have to journey alone. You are wired for connection. Let me join you on your healing journey!
